We have been away from our desks recently visiting family/friends and collecting some of our fundraising raffle prizes from local businesses in Shrewsbury, Shropshire. We are very grateful to the businesses that are supporting our cause and it was a pleasure to meet and thank each business in person. We are back in Cornwall for two months now and are continuing to organise our events in New Zealand whilst finalising the details for Nicholas’s fundraising swim. Nicholas has raised a staggering £770 so far! To keep up to date with Nicholas’s swim training progress please see his event page on Facebook here.

The Freezing Swim for Sharks will be taking place at 12 noon, New Year’s Day in Padstow Harbour, Cornwall. Please do come and see us if you are in the area on New Year’s Day and give Nicholas some support!

Nicholas has been interviewed by The Cornish Guardian today and an article regarding our Friends for Sharks work is also going to be appearing within the local newspaper on Rarotonga, The Cook Islands. It is really great to be sharing our work with people as we approach the start of our tour and we hope this publicity will bring further interest to our cause.

Also, our calendar of events is now online and the calendar is being updated regularly with new events. Our latest addition is a lecture at the University of Plymouth on 4th February 2015, which also happens to be my birthday. What a fantastic way to celebrate by talking shark and hopefully finding some cake! We are really looking forward to returning to the university where I studied many years ago and hope to inspire their students.

The full list of Friends for Sharks events can be found here. We look forward to seeing you at our events and please do be sure to come and say hello afterwards.
